APF Direct Action Program

The Group Peer Support Direct Action Program at the American Psychological Foundation (APF) supports the expansion of the GPS model to offer free, evidence-based support groups to even more communities in need. Through this APF Direct Action Program, Group Peer Support will continue to adapt its successful model for diverse populations, meeting the ever increasing need for mental health support and social connection among these communities. 

APF Direct Action seeks to fund innovative interventions, based on psychological knowledge, that directly address pressing needs of communities. As an APF Direct Action Program, Group Peer Support will work to deploy its evidence-based approach to support communities in crisis and create sustainable structures for ongoing support.
