“When you find a space where you can show up and be your authentic self, you have found a space where you are welcomed and appreciated for just being you.”
— Michelle Hagues-Fullwood

There are people whose presence feels like a soft place to land, people who make you breathe a little easier the moment you sit beside them. For so many in our GPS community, Michelle Hagues-Fullwood is that person.

Michelle has spent more than 30 years walking alongside families, mothers, and parents during some of the most tender moments of their lives. She’s a counselor, a mentor, a coach, and a guide. But more than anything, she’s someone who shows up with warmth, honesty, and a steady belief that healing happens when we’re truly seen.

Michelle brings that same spirit into her work as a GPS Support Group Facilitator and Lead Facilitator Coach, where she’s been a beloved part of our community for the past five years.

A Moment That Changed Everything
Michelle’s introduction to GPS came at a time when many were hurting. After the murder of George Floyd, she was invited into the GPS Black Leaders group—a space created for truth-telling, connection, and collective care during a moment of national grief.

“I joined GPS after being invited to join the Black Leaders group when there was unrest in the country and the world,” she says. “Seeing, experiencing, and connecting with others in the process made me realize that I can also do it.”

It wasn’t just training. It wasn’t just a meeting. It was a moment of recognition. Michelle felt something shift inside her—an understanding that she belonged here, that she had something powerful to offer, and that this model matched the way she was already living her life.

Finding Her Favorite Part
Ask Michelle what speaks to her most, and she doesn’t hesitate: it’s the GPS Check In.

“I enjoy the GPS Check In process the most. It allows everyone to have a voice and it is space to share their truths.”

There’s something almost sacred about the way she describes it. Not rushed. Not pressured. Just room.

Room for people to arrive.
Room for emotions that don’t always have a place.
Room for stories that deserve honoring.

With Michelle, the GPS Check In becomes a moment where every person feels like their presence matters. And it does.

A Community That Keeps Growing
Five years in, Michelle has connected with people across the United States and around the world. She has watched strangers become community, and she has seen the gentle transformation that happens when someone is finally given permission to speak from the heart.

“GPS has given me the opportunity to meet people from all over the United States and elsewhere in the world who need a place and a space to find support,” she shares. “I enjoy being a facilitator and seeing the impact each week on how checking in plays a pivotal role in creating change in one’s life.”

For Michelle, those moments aren’t small—they’re everything.

Her Guiding Truth
Michelle carries a belief that feels like a hand on your shoulder:

“When you find a space where you can show up and be your authentic self, you have found a space where you are welcomed and appreciated for just being you.”

It’s not just a quote. It’s how she lives, leads, and makes others feel—whether they’re navigating anxiety, postpartum challenges, parenting stress, or simply the complexity of being human.

And every time she steps into a GPS support group, she brings that same sense of welcome with her.
